Hanover my concerns far outweigh those of England, even to the extent that for Hanover I would not hesitate to sacrifice the interests of England. After my father's death, I simultaneously inherited Hanover and became the new Elector of Hanover. Just like my father, during my reign I frequently returned to Hanover, leaving Queen Caroline alone in Britain to rule in my stead.
My time spent in Hanover was busy with public affairs but also rich in leisure activities such as discussing life with friends. The British people had already had enough of my father George I. This time, whether it was within the palace or outside society, they were very dissatisfied with this kind of behavior where a king abandoned his wife and ignored state affairs.
To ensure the safety of our territories in Germany, I even disregarded opposition from within and supported Austria against Prussia and France during the War of Austrian Succession. Leaving behind domestic politics in Britain, I returned to Hanover to command troops on the frontlines and personally led German princes' armies alongside a small contingent of English soldiers into battle against France; we won at Dettingen Battle in 1743. Although by then I was 61 years old and displayed surprising military talent & diplomatic skill on battlefields yet these achievements could not improve George II's image as one who sacrificed British interests for Hannovarian ones.
The following year when Prime Minister Carteret resigned after becoming scapegoat over some issue (I have no choice but watch), George II found himself without an able ally again amidst mounting pressures.
Common folk grumbled about me while others attacked openly: e.g., exiled Stuart pretenders who lost their claim to throne through rebellion or betrayal before invading Britain once more under Charles Edward Stuart "Bonnie Prince Charlie" - Edinburgh fell followed by Carlisle & Derby leading up March 1746 invasion culminating defeat at Culloden Moor near Inverness Scotland
