四年级讲故事：138收账烧债券，历史上的财富智慧
孟尝君逃回齐国，齐湣王如同找回了失去的珍宝一样欣喜若狂，再次请他担任相国。秦国因为齐国位于遥远的东方，不便再次干扰，因此两国相安无事。
孟尝君变得更加富有，他的门客也越来越多。他将门客分为三等。头等门客享用鱼肉，并配备车马；二等门客也吃鱼肉，但没有车马；三等门客只能品尝粗粮淡菜，但足以避免饥饿。他一个人要养活超过三千名的门客，这当然超出了他的俸禄所能覆盖。因此，他在自己的封地薛城向老百姓放贷款。这笔高利贷进来的钱就用于补助他的一部分开支。不过薛城的人们在这种高利贷的压迫下，生活困难得让人喘不过气来。
有一天，那个管理招待室总管对孟尝君说：“接下来一个月，我们的手头不够，可以派人去薛城收账。”孟尝君问谁去那位总管推荐了那个曾经穿着破旧草鞋、拍着宝剑唱歌的冯驩。在这儿呆了一年多了，而且看起来很诚实可靠，所以被选中去了。
冯驩是一名来自齐国的人。当初衣衫褴褛地来到孟尝君面前。他说：“我什么本事都没有，只是听说凡是投奔您这里的人，您都会收留。我为了极度贫穷，没有饭吃才投奔到您的身边。”孟尝君点点头，把他安排到了三等门客里过了一段时间后，冯驩被提升为二等门客，每日享用鱼肉和牛肉，还有车马随行。
然而几天后，当冯驩再次升至一等最高级别时，每当饭后，他依然拿出宝剑唱歌，说“吃不了鱼，就把宝剑送还吧！”这让孟尝君感到惊讶，因为他意识到冯驩似乎并不满足于当前的地位。
不久之后，当总管报告说冯 驩又在唱歌时，表达了想要更高位置的心愿时，孟 尚 听从他的建议，将其晋升为上宾。然而不久后，又听闻他仍旧每餐饭后挥舞宝剑而唱道，“不能养活家，就把宝剑送还吧！”这使得 孟 尚 开始怀疑这个人的真正意图是否真的如其言般渴望更高的地位？
此刻，在接到命令前往薛城收取欠款之际， 冯 驩提出了一个问题：“路途中，我可以买些什么东西回来？”Son Meng Zang replied with a smile, saying: “Whatever we are short of, buy it. Let you handle it.” So Feng Huan set off on his journey to collect the debts in Shu City.
The people of Shu City heard that Meng Zang had sent one of his highest-ranking guests to collect debts, and they were all terrified. Some even planned to flee or beg for mercy. When Feng Huan arrived at the city gate, only a few wealthy families came forward to pay their debts.
Feng Huan bought meat and wine with the money he collected and issued an announcement: "All those who owe Meng Zang money should gather here tomorrow for a feast." The next day, everyone gathered as instructed. After enjoying the food and drink provided by Feng Huan, they were asked one by one about their financial situation.
Some requested extensions on their debt repayment terms; some said they could not repay anything at all; others claimed that their children were ill or that they had just lost someone in the family. As Feng listened to each story, he sympathized deeply with them.
Finally, after hearing from everyone present, he made a decision: "I will burn these debt slips!" With this act of kindness and compassion towards these suffering people who owed him money but could not afford it anymore due to various reasons such as crop failure or illness etc., Son Meng Zang gained great respect among his followers which is what really matters most in life rather than material wealth alone!
